Does Stream Semester accept guest posts?

Yes! Stream Semester loves guest contributors who want to share valuable information about photography, production, content creation, and filmmaking with our readers. Before you write a guest post, make sure you read this entire page to understand the guidelines.

What are Stream Semester’s technical guidelines for guest posts?

A guest post should:

  • Be at least 500 words

  • Include at least three keywords or key phrases (more on this below) repeated at least twice throughout the copy

  • Include a meta title (46-53 characters)

  • Include a meta description (145-155 characters)

  • Include three hyperlinks to other Stream Semester articles

  • Include a brief author bio (~three sentences)

  • Be on brand and about a relevant topic

What topics can I write about?

Stream Semester exists to empower video production educators and their students through articles, videos, and podcasts that give help on a variety of subjects including live production, film production, classroom workflow and much more. Your article must align with that mission and speak to our target audience.

Making Your Article SEO’d

  • Answer The Public

    Once you decide on your article topic, visit AnswerThePublic.com. Type your topic into the search bar, set your location to the United States, and search. You’ll see a list of the most common queries about your topic. Pick a few to use as key phrases in your article. (Note that you are limited to three searches per day.)

  • WebYurt

    Use WebYurt to help you write your article’s meta title and meta description. These elements are what show up on the search results page when someone searches for something relevant to your article topic. Make sure your meta title contains a strong keyword or key phrase and your meta description is compelling.

  • Grammarly

    Before submitting your article, paste it into the Grammarly web app to check for spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. You can also download the Grammarly plugin for your browser for real-time editing. Proofread everything before you send your article to Stream Semester’s publishing team.
